If you’ve ever skated before there’s a buzz you get when lacing up a pair of skates. Wether it’s your first time and the feeling is nervous excitement or it’s you 3,000th time and it’s just the thought of letting everything fall away, to just be in that moment where nothing else really matters. 

After 35 years of skating I’m very much in that latter category where it’s a sense of release, memories of my childhood. A childhood where I’d spend my time at the rink, every chance I had.

Starting out at the rink 16 miles from my small town in the UK as a 13yo, not knowing anyone at the rink, having my parents drive me, to building what can only be described as a community of ‘my people’. People from every walk of life, different cultures and races, different likes and loves all thrown together into this wonderful, often-sweaty mess of music, laughter, falls and encouragement.

That’s what we’re building with SKTNG. A community. In-person. With the benefits of really good exercise and improved mental health. We’re combining the best parts of the nostalgic rinks of the past with a premium experience for the future. 

Why “No AI”?

Because SKTNG is built for people, not algorithms. We don’t want to be another app or feed you scroll through - we want to be the reason you put your phone down.

The world doesn’t need another digital distraction. It needs places that remind us we still exist together - in the same room, on the same floor, moving to the same beat.

What SKTNG Is

SKTNG will be a large, purpose-built roller skating venue in the heart of Greater Sydney. Think of it as a nostalgic, yet state-of-the-art playground for everyone. At its core it’s focused primarily around a high quality maple wood roller rink with sound, light and visual design that creates an immersive experience customised for the session and audience. Think bright, fun, kids sessions, dark, deep nightclub style experiences with guest DJs and inclusive, neurodivergent sessions where everything is toned down, calm and curated. 

But it's more than just a rink. It's a multi-use space with a selection of different zones.

• A smaller learner rink provides a space where the less confident can roll without feeling the pressure of speed or performance. They can roll or walk at their own pace, get used to the wheels beneath their feet. 
• A retro arcade fills the time for those not quite so confident in their new found wheely footwear. Simple games that steer away from screens and digital overwhelm into interactive laughter and friendship building.
• An intimate cafe and bar area that caters to everyone but makes sure the parents can enjoy their time with good food, coffee or a glass of wine, making food another integral part of the experience. Good quality food, coffee and drinks served in a capivating space designed to be enjoyed. 
• Private rooms for kids parties, VIP rooms for special events and a flexible event space that can be set up for anything from team days to community gatherings.

We’ve put a lot of thought into how the experience feels from the moment you walk through the door to rolling off the rink. Our sessions are timed and themed, so you always know what to expect. We’ll have handpicked music and lighting to match the mood, whether it’s a family afternoon or a late-night skate.

Safety is our top priority. Our staff will be trained to not only keep an eye on things but to also actively help you learn and feel welcome. If you’re a little wobbly, they’ll show you the ropes.

SKTNG isn't a screen-based "experience." It's a place for real, hands-on fun. It's also not just a kids' venue or just a nightclub. It changes and adapts to the time and the crowd, so you get exactly the right feel, yes that includes inclusive nights for those sensitive to loud noise and flashing lights. And most importantly, it's not an exclusive club. We celebrate beginners here. We love watching someone learn to take their first few rolls.

We're in the process of bringing this vision to life and are aiming to open our flagship venue in Western Sydney. This is just the beginning. Our goal is to build a vibrant community right here in Parramatta, with the potential to grow in the future. We'll keep you posted every step of the way.
